In this month’s Word, I interview the wonderful Saint Etienne – on the occasion of their new album, Words And Music By Saint Etienne – on What Pop Made Them Do. This involves Robin Gibb-inspired trips to Shipton-On-Stour, Pale Fountains lyrics pinned to kitchen walls which inspire you to flee Old Windsor, and a 200-mile journey by two teenage boys just to see the front door of The Fall’s fanclub HQ. I also review the great documentary, Corman’s World, about cult director Roger Corman. More here.
