By jude • Features, Music, women • 20 Nov 2012

I find opinion pieces tough to write. But sometimes there are things gnawing at you so horribly, so badly, that you can’t help it but feel them rising up through your body, forcing you to write about them. So I did. This is a piece for The Quietus about Rihanna, and pop marketing, and domestic violence, and online culture, and how polarised debates seem to be at the heart of any mainstream discussion of art, and some other stuff. Now I’m going to lie down in a dark room.
